MAOR participated in the Central Asian International Forum in Tashkent. There are large lakes in Central Asia - Issyk-Kul, Balkhash, the Small Aral Sea, Aydarkul, Zaisan, as well as significant wetlands. The violation of the water balance and the lack of agreements between states can lead to a reduction in lake biodiversity and even to loss. The International Association of Lake Regions supports the forum participants in their efforts to find a balance between the economic development of Central Asian countries and the preservation of favorable environmental conditions in this part of the continent.
