Today, on August 27, 2025, on World Lakes Day, we invite all the peoples of the Earth and the inhabitants of the lake regions of Eurasia to join forces and demonstrate solidarity and a desire to preserve and enhance the beauty and richness of our lakes.
The lakes of Eurasia are a unique and invaluable source of life. They play an important role in economic, environmental, aesthetic, cultural and educational development. They inspire and enrich us spiritually, purify us from emotional stress, and refine our thoughts, feelings, and actions.
At the same time, in all corners of the world we see increasing anxiety and concern of people about the problems of pollution, shallowing and death of lakes. Therefore, in December 2024, the UN Environment Assembly established August 27 as World Lakes Day.
Today we invite everyone who cares about nature, the life-giving beauty and purity of the lakes, who wants to rejoice, be proud and live happily on the lake shores, to take the first small step into our clean future.
This step is participation in the international campaign "Clean Shores of Eurasia"
We believe that Cleanliness and our unity of action will save our lakes!
The slogan of our joint efforts is: “Together we will protect, Revive and Preserve the Purity, Beauty and Riches of our Lakes!”
We wish all participants of this noble work to keep in their hearts the constant desire to do good for our lakes!
We believe that the protection, pollution control and effective management of Eurasian lake resources is an essential prerequisite for the development of international cooperation and Eurasian integration, in addressing transboundary water issues.
This gives us confidence that our joint efforts will allow us to better understand the growing severity of environmental problems and find new solutions to restore, preserve and enhance the unique creation of nature – the Great Lakes of Eurasia.
